Sample Development Fee Explanation

This fee covers the cost of producing an in-stock sample tailored to your finished product specifications. It includes inventory selection, machine setup, and the creation of a fully finished sample ready for evaluation.

The sample will be configured using materials, colorways, and constructions that we maintain in stock annually—particularly within our BIC (Braid In Can) programs. From there, we will customize the braid to your requirements, including finishing, length, and tipping, and deliver completed samples to your team for testing, evaluation, and photography.

This fee is credited toward your final production order when you proceed to manufacturing.

Why This Fee Applies

Producing samples requires dedicated time and resources outside of standard production flow. This includes:

  • Pulling inventory not scheduled for active production
  • Setting up machinery for short-run finishing operations
  • Interrupting full-scale manufacturing runs

Because these activities impact efficiency and margin on ongoing production orders, this fee allows us to allocate resources responsibly while maintaining service levels for both new and legacy customers.

Purpose

This process ensures you can confidently validate:

  • Design intent
  • Material performance
  • Fit and finish
  • Overall product quality

…before committing to full-scale production.
